Way back here, I talked about the things that I missed from the Philippines. I am writing this from my new home in South Korea and I missing exactly the same things.

The mango shakes still taste sweet, the Halo-Halo chill still stings my teeth, my sunburnt face still saps my energy, the dust is still not washed from my clothes, the jeepney still roars in my ear, and my face still smiles from good times had.

Good times will not draw me back. Berna's grim future, young girls treated as things, too skinny kids, children missing out on education, slums and general craziness will draw me back.

I will be back in about one year. To not return would be like destroying a little piece of myself.

But, of course, we all know why I am really returning to the Philippines. In the Philippines I am handsome, popular with the ladies and the receipient of much flirting.
