Not my HomeAnd you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here? Talking Heads - Once in a lifetime 16th June 2007 Each time I arrive in a country I do a little piece on my new home. My home is the Philippines is here, my home in Ghana is here and my home in Uganda is here. The place I stay at in Korea located inside this residental sprawl. It is on the third floor of this four story grey brick. It has two rooms, a bedroom/living room/kitchen and a bathroom/washroom. It has an airconditiner for the warm days and underfloor heating for the cold days. A gas cooker sits unused on the benchtop. *shrugs*. That's it. Why the antipathy? Because this is not my home. My home is on the dirt of Africa My home is on the concrete floors of Uganda. My home is in the mud huts of Kitgum. My home is in the of refugee camps of Ghana. My home is in the bamboo houses of Dumangas. My home is in the red-light district of Angeles. My home is in the slums of Manila. Korea is not my home. My home is on the road. My place is with poor.
