Looking forward to the Philippines and South Korea  pulao_t.jpg

4th April 2007
Tomorrow I head off to the Philippines for a month long stay.  I can't wait quite frankly.  I'll have a one day stop over in Brunei - a country I know nothing about - before heading to the Philippines.

I'll be meeting some friends at Manila airport at about midnight, before catching the 5 a.m. flight to Iloilo.  I'll catch a jeepney from the airport and head straight to the graduation at Pulao Elementary School - the school I taught at for six months.  I imagine myself getting mugged when I walk in the front gate.  If it was anything like the last graduation I attended there, it should be wonderful.

For the rest of the time, I'll be catching up with friends, checking out the existing volunteer programs in Romblon, and assessing the damage that was causes by the oil slick.

It's then onto South Korea where I'll be working at the Kwok Language School in the city of Inch'on, which is located about 50 minutes by train from Seoul.

I'm a little nervous about teaching in Korea.  It will be an environment quite different to volunteering.  In a way, I almost feel immoral about earning a wage again.  Yes, that's stoopid I know, but that it still how I feel.  The money that I save will fund an extended stay in the Philippines.

So.  Many changed ahead (again).  Will be interesting to see how the pan out!  Next report will either be from Brunei or the Philippines!
