Some Random Facts and Figures

6th April 2006

  • Total Days Stayed: 189
Seems short and long at the same time.

  • Pictures taken: 7,611
... or about 40 a day.  I like the shotgun approach to photography.  If I take enough photos then one or two have to be good.

  • Most photos in one day: 532
... on the day of the Pulao Graduation, my farewell party and the graduation disco.  It worked outs to be about one every two minutes.

  • Cameras Used: Three
One lost, one died of exhaustion and one in use.

  • Cell Phones Used:  Three
One destroyed, one stolen and one in use.

  • Kissed Received: Two
One from a the lead singer from Sizzle and one random one on the cheek from Cute.  Sizzle story can be found here.

  • Number of Students who Passed their Year:  87
Which would be all of them.  This may be slightly skewed by the cheating that went on.

  • Most Expensive Item Lost: New Zealand SIM Card
To the tune of 240,000 pesos ($NZ 6,000).  Full story can be found here.

  • Dollars spent per week: About $NZ 100 or 4,000 pesos
This is slightly skewed by the large ticket items I bought - like my flash new digital camera at $NZ 375 - and all the island hopping I did.

  • Most Treasured Acquisition:  A toss up between my D.C.V. Basketball Top and the photo Lorren Joy gave me.

An honorable mention go to my bracelets.  These were given to me by numerous students as a remembrance.
I have about twenty black ones and one white one.   I joke with the kids that it is representative of me in the Philippines.

  • Kilograms Lost: Seven
A healthy diet of rice and fish heads will do this to you!
Well, not quite true.  The food Jen Jen served me was very nice.  Check out this for a sample meal.
I will miss the fresh mangos and pineapples when I am in New Zealand
