This day has been a very special one for me.
Subong nga ad-law pe-na ka import-aunty para sa akon.
When I am an old man, all wrinkly, bald and looking back at this day I will smile.
Pag abut sang pa-na-hun nga tig-gul-lang na ko, kor-e-not na ang pa-neet kag akon ma-duum-du-man ko ang adlau nga ee-knee naga you-hum ako.
Your words were kind and I know they came from the heart. I wont forget as long as I live.
Ang tanan ging hambal ninu sa akon hal-lin sa in-you tag gee po so-un. Indi ko gid ee-na ma-leem-tan. Sum tang buhi ako
Thank you so very very much.
Salamat Gid
I want to talk to you about two great men.
Gusto ko e ee-store-e-a ang parr-tee sa duwa ka maayou nga ta-woo
The first was a very educated man.
Ang una, isa ka ee-doh-ka-do nga ta-woo
He spoke many languages.
Ka-ba-loo mag hambal sang nag la-in–la-in nga ling-gwa-hee
He was an eye doctor
Isa ka speesh-sha-leest-a sa mata
He was a poet. He was a revolutionary.
Isa ka maayou nga ma-nug-su-lat. Isa ka rebu-loose-u-na-rio
He was against violence.
Indi sha gusto sang kag-a-mu
He had a profound affect on your country.
Ka da ko sang e-ya nga na-boo-leg sa in-you na-shun
He was also shot on December 30, 1896.
Pi-na-tie sha pa-a-gee sa pag-lut-hung sang December 30, 1896.
Does anyone know whom he was?
Sin-o ang na-ka-key-la-la sa ee-ya?
That’s right. It was Jose Rizal.
Chakto! She-ya a-mu Si Jose Rizal.
Jose Rizal was educated and, more importantly, he never stopped learning.
Si Jose Rizal isa ka ed-du-ka-doh nga tawu, ang pina ka im-poorr-tan-te, wala siya nag un-tat sang pag-tu-on
He never stopped learning.
wala siya nag un-tat sang pag-tu-on
He never stopped learning.
wala siya nag un-tat sang pag-tu-on
The second man I want to talk about did not finish school.
Ang ika-do-wah nga tawu nga akon e-e-story-a wala ka tapos elemen-tar-re-a
His teachers thought he was dense.
Ah-bee sang manga maestra kag maestro knee-a mang-u see-ya
He left school at about your age.
Nag hal-en sha sa eskwalahan sa parehas sang pang e-da-ron nen-u subong
He is also widely regarded as the cleverest person of the twentieth.
Isa siya sa pee-na ka-ma-disc-art-tee nga ta-woo sang twentieth century
He changed the way we think about the universe.
Geen bag-oo nee-ah ang a-tun nga pag-lan-tau sa ka-lee-boo-tan
Like Jose Rizal, he never stopped learning. He learnt, learnt and learnt some more.
Ka-pa-re-ho ni Jose Rizal, wala see-ya nag un-tat sa pag-too-uun
Unlike Jose Rizal though, he did not do his learning at schools.
Indi ka pare-has ni Jose Rizal, wala sha-nag-too-oon sa eskwelahan
He read books and talked to people.
Naga ba-sa see-ya sang libro kag nag-a e-story-ya sha sa mang-a-ta-woo
His name was Albert Einstein.
Ang nga-lan nee-ya Malcolm Trevena. Joke. Joke. Joke.
Ang nga-lan nee-ya Albert Einstein.
Both of these people had a profound affect on the world.
Si lang-ah duwa daku ang na-boo-leeg sa ka-lee-boo-tan
One was educated. One was not. Both never stopped learning.
Isa ka ee-doo-ka-doo. Isa ka wala sang tee-nun-ahn. Pero pare-ho sila nga wala nag un-tat sang pag-to-uun.
If you can go to school, then please do. It is the easiest way to learn.
Kung pa eskwela-huun ka, kay-oh-huun moo. isa ee-na sa hapos nga pa-ag-ee sa pag-tu-uun.
It is what Jose Rizal did.
Amu ee-nah ang pa-ma-ag-ee ni Jose Rizal.
If you don’t get the chance, then that is sad.
Kung indi ka maka eskwala, ee-nah ma-su-bo gid
But never ever stop learning.
Pear-o indi ka gid mag-uun-tat sa pag-too-uun
This is what Albert Einstein did.
Amu ina ang gin-hee-mo ni Albert Einstein.
But never ever stop learning, like Jose Rizal.
Pear-o indi ka gid mag-uun-tat sa pag-too-uun, pareho ni Jose Rizal.
But never ever stop learning, like Albert Einstean
Pear-o indi ka gid mag-uun-tat sa pag-too-uun, pareho ni Albert Einstein.
I also want to talk about my time here in Pulao.
Gusto ko e-share sa ee-nyu ang parr-tea sa pag-tud-low ko dairy sa Pulao
As I leave here, I feel many emotions.
Sa ak-kuun pag-ha-lean, ma damu nga sa-ree-sa-ree nga e-mow-shun ang a-koon na-but-ya-gun
I feel sad because I will miss you.
Na ga ka su-boo ako kay ma-miss ko ka-mu
You are good kids who can do great things.
Maayou kamu nga manga ba-taa nga ma-ka hee-mu sang maayou nga-bu-tang
I will miss the teachers.
Ma miss ku ang tanan nga manga maestro kag maestra
Don’t forget you are in a noble profession
Indi nyo pag ka-lin-tan ang in-you nga profession isa sang mang-a ma-pa-boo-gal na profession
I will miss the student teachers.
Ma miss ku ang tanan nga manga student teachers.
I will miss your friendship.
Ma miss ko ang at-tun nga pag amiga-high kag amigo-high
I wish you luck in your chosen profession.
Ga pang-a-moo-you ako nga ma tapos ang in-you na pee-lee nga profession.
If I had three wishes, I would firstly wish for an end to the corruption in the Philippines.
Kung my tatlo ako nga pang-a-you-un, ang una, amu ang ma tapos ang corruption sa Filipinas.
The second would remove your foreign debt.
Ang ika duwa ang ma-doo-la ang utang sa gwa sang Filipinas.
The third would be that each one of you would get the education you deserve.
Ang ika tatlo, nga ka-moo-ta-nan ma ka koo ha sang maayou nga ed-doo-kay-shun
In closing let me say that I will miss you guys.
Sa pag ka tapos, pa ha no go tea neen-you ako sa pag hambal nga ma-mee-miss ko gid kamu tanan
You are not only my students.
Indi la mang kamu akon e-stoo-jant-te
You are not only my fellow teachers.
Indi la mang kamu akon parehas nga maesta or maestro
You are my friends.
Kundi akon kamu tanan a-bee-yan
I will miss you my friends.
Ma-mee-miss ko kamu a-kuun manga a-bee-yan
Take Care
